Advancing More Equitable Community Health Systems in Massachusetts

We work tirelessly with our community partners to help alleviate the growing burden of healthcare disparities and advance more equitable community health systems.

Recently, we expanded our partnership with Partners In Health United States (PIH-US) to include the U.S. arm of the global health and social justice organization, Partners In Health United States (PIH-US). PIH-US works to build a stronger community-led public health infrastructure, more robust community health workforce, and more just U.S. health system.

Through this collaboration, Takeda and PIH-US will help to improve health outcomes in Massachusetts communities disproportionately affected by healthcare disparities and design sustainable health equity solutions that target the root cause of inequities.

Together with PIH-US, we aim to expand opportunities for Community Health Workers (CHWs) to strengthen the health workforce and bring more community members into the health system.

Additionally, as part of our collaboration with PIH-US, we will support Health Equity Communities of Practice, a cross-sector initiative that convenes local Massachusetts leaders to target systemic barriers to equity at the policy level.

While the journey to advance health equity is complex, Katie Bollbach believes that the important work that PIH-US is doing with partners like Takeda is exemplary of what is needed to address fragmentation in our health system and ensure community members are connected to the health care resources they need most.
