In India, Takeda operates as Takeda Biopharmaceuticals India Private Limited (formerly known as Baxalta Bioscience India Pvt. Ltd.). The company focuses on Rare Diseases, including Hemophilia and Lysosomal Storage Disorders; Rare Immunology and specialty care for Gastroenterology and will soon be introducing its oncology portfolio in India.

2011 NYCOMED GROUP'S ACQUISITION
Expands Takeda's global footprint into more than 70 countries worldwide including India.
2015 BAXTER TO BAXALTA
Following the global spin off from Baxter group's bioscience business to Baxalta group.
A new legal entity Baxalta India was incorporated to manage the spin off bioscience business in India (hematology and immunology portfolio).
2016 BAXALTA TO SHIRE
Shire group acquired Baxalta gropu at global level, which strenghtened its foothold in India and expanded its portfolio in rare diseases across globe.
2019 SHIRE GROUP'S ACQUISITION
Makes Takeda a global biopharmaceutical leader with a presence in approximately 80 countries.
2022 TAKEDA BIOPHARMACEUTICALS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED
Shire and Takeda merged into Baxalta Bioscience India Pvt. Ltd. and name changed to Takeda Biopharmaceuticals India Private Limited.
