When listening to IBD patients, it's fully understandable that peer-to-peer contact is important and key in their daily life. At Takeda, we actively strive to contribute to the empowerment of patients by helpingto provide relevant evidence-based information regarding day-to-day living with a disease and by increasing disease awareness. Therefore, Takeda supports the organisation of dedicated IBD patient days together with hospitals and Belgian IBD patient associations.
The aims of for these events are to share objective and relevant information to patients beyond the disease, to facilitate contact between patients and caregivers and promote different forms of interaction with the multidisciplinary medical staff. Another goal is to raise awareness of IBD in order to improve strategies for coping with the taboo subject and in the end increase patient empowerment.
Recently, in order to continue offering this service to patients, Takeda has also been organising virtual Patient Days.
